What A Director Wants - Voiceover Auditions (March) - $65

If you're new to the voice acting field, or would like a director's insight into what helps and what doesn't, then this is for you. We will cover everything you need to know in order to professionally apply to paid commercial voiceover, narration, or voice acting gigs. We will also cover what helps your application stand out and the director's reasoning behind these tips. You will come away from these lectures with the know-how to stand head and shoulders above a crowd of applicants!

These lectures are designed and taught by FN Network Director, Amelia Kinch.

I. What A Director Wants - Auditions (Part One) 1.5hrs

     What paid roles are out there and how do they differ?

          - Audiobooks

          - Commercial voice overs

          - Video Game voice overs

          - TV/Movie animation voice overs

          - Audiodramas/podcasts/radio plays

     Do’s and Don’ts in auditioning

     How to immediately stand out from the crowd

     How to put a price on your skills

II. What A Director Wants - Auditions (Part Two) 1.5hrs

     Covering Callbacks: how to translate direction effectively

          - Mechanical instruction vs. intuitive instruction

          - How to handle direction (when your input is needed vs. when it isn’t.)

     Cost/benefit analysis in large casting calls

          - Should you record a custom monologue?

          - Should you just send your reel?

          - How much does it matter?

          - Should I disclose race/sexuality/gender/etc?

     What should your expectations be in regards to communications after/during auditions?

     When you should get your hopes up & when should you cut your losses

     You will be encouraged to ask questions and partake in the discussion as much as you like. Additionally, each lecture will have a full additional hour of live Q&A afterwards, for the more extensive questions!

Lastly, you'll receive each of the following materials included in your course:

     - Written out process & worksheet for building a demo reel

     - Video + audio recording of both lectures

     - Copy of notes + slides for the lectures
